“It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head.” – Henri Cartier-Bresson
Hi, my name is Charlie. I was born in 1988 in a small French village, lined with endless vineyards. From there I followed a long path of studies which ended in acquiring a master degree from Nancy’s architecture school in 2016, where I specialized in “architecture : theory and critics”. After my studies I worked over five years in architecture offices, gathering a good experience in the field. I also recently started a freelance photographer practice, mainly working for landscape and architecture agencies.
I’ve been working for more than four years at dea, an architecture office located in Mulhouse, whose lead architect was a former associate from Herzog & De Meuron. Prior to that, I worked six months for SeArch, in Amsterdam. Where I could expend my ideas and meet people from all over Europe.
As far as I can remember, I always felt the need to experiment everything I found even remotely interesting. This is how I got into drawing, painting, photography, computers and later on, architecture. Sometimes I master things very quickly, get bored and move on. Sometimes I get stuck and relentlessly try again, until I succeed.
