Art is an endless source of inspiration. Making photos of a piece of art is also a good way to practice photography itself. Because you have to ask yourself what is relevant in that piece, and what is okay to be left behind. What is the essence of that piece ? is it the texture, the shape, the composition, the scale, the motif (…) ask yourself these trivial questions, and you’ll be able to produce simple photographs that speak for themselves.
